Toyota Camry Continues Proud Tradition of Safety, Reliability

There’s a reason the Toyota Camry has been the best-selling car in America for the last 16 years. It’s safe. It’s efficient. It’s reliable.

Under the Hood

There are three engine platforms for the Camry: a four-cylinder, a V-6 and the Hybrid.

The stout 3.5-liter V-6 churns out 301 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque, while the efficient and reliable 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine produces 206 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque.

The Camry Hybrid engine offers 176 horsepower and 163 pound-feet of torque.

The Camry’s Dual VVT-i with VVT-iE variable valve timing system is an innovative feature that uses an electric motor (instead of oil pressure) to control variable valve timing. This enhances fuel efficiency with cleaner exhaust emissions, even when running in cold temperatures or low rpms.

Comfort & Convenience

Drivers have come to expect a smooth, quiet ride from the Camry, and designers of the 2019 Toyota Camry spent countless hours looking at ways to minimize Noise, Vibrations and Harshness.

This is accomplished with sound absorbing/insulation infused throughout various parts of the construction. Foam/vibration dampening materials provide further insulation from the engine for the passenger compartment, and the 2019 Toyota Camry has a thicker dash silencer mat across the entire interior firewall.

Noiseproofing materials now encompass more surface area of the cabin’s ceiling, while a rain gutter molding helps reduce noise coming through the windshield.

The Toyota Safety Sense P suite of safety systems and driver-assistance technologies comes standard on every 2019 Toyota Camry. Components of Toyota Safety Sense P include Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist and Automatic High Beams.

Optional upgrades have an available Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert. While an available Intelligent Clearance Sonar also includes the Rear Cross Traffic Braking system.

Toyota’s Star Safety System also comes standard. It includes Enhanced Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Brake Assist, Anti-lock Braking System and Smart Stop Technology.

A backup camera is also standard on all 2019 Toyota Camrys.
