Fully Redesigned for its fourth generation, the 2020 Toyota Highlander offers bold, chiseled design, app integration and a suite of advanced safety features.
Under the Hood
There are two engine choices available with the 2020 Toyota Highlander: A stout V6, or a hybrid. The 3.5-liter, six-cylinder engine produces 295 horsepower, while dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence ensures ideal response and efficiency. This gives the V6 engine 263 pound-feet of torque.
When properly equipped, the 2020 Toyota Highlander V6 can tow up to 5,000 pounds.
The hybrid is powered by a 2.5-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine with a total of 243 horsepower.
Comfort & Convenience
Toyota’s engineers understand the importance of staying connected, that’s why every 2020 Highlander is compatible with Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, Apple CarPlay, Waze and SiriusXM.
An 8-inch touchscreen comes standard, while the platinum grade offers a 12.3-inch touchscreen. Turn your Highlander into a concert on wheels with the optional JBL Premium Sound System with 1,200 watts of power.
This year’s Highlander is 2.36 inches longer than 2019’s, and that extra space extends the cargo area to add even greater volume. The second row slides an extra 1.2 inches further up to increase distance between the second and third rows.
Safety
Safety is a high priority to Toyota, that’s why every 2020 Highlander comes with a suite of advanced driver-assistance features. Every version of the 2020 Highlander features Toyota Safety Sense 2.0, which includes advancements like Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist and Automatic High Beam.
Lane Tracing Assist and Road Sign Assist are two new advancements available to the Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 suite.
