Toyota’s 2022 Highlander delivers premium styling, interior enhancements and exceptional fuel economy.
The latest updates to the Highlilander line-up includes a Bronze Edition Hybrid, available in Wind Chill Pearl and Cement exterior paint colors.
Under The Hood
The 2022 Highlander offers two powertrains—a V6 gas engine and Toyota Hybrid System. The V6 3.5-liter engine generates 295-hp and 263 Lb-ft equipped with 5,000-pound towing capability.
Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (Dual VVT-i) provides responsiveness and efficiency for all engine speeds.
Automatic start-stop technology cuts off the engine when the vehicle stops and restarts it instantly when pressure is removed from the brakes.
This system helps the SUV conserve fuel economy by over eight percent particularly in heavy traffic.
Alternatively, the Hybrid System combines a high-efficiency 2.5-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine with two electric motors which achieves a combined 243-hp. The system optimizes the level of electric motor assistance and gas engine speed without the engine running at high revs.
Comfort & Convenience
Toyota’s Highlander comes with the latest multimedia systems including: Apple CarPlay, Android AutoTM and Amazon Alexa compatibility and SiriusXM. Also available on the XSE and Hybrid models is a JBL Premium Audio System that offers 1,200 watts of playing power via 11 speakers from nine surrounding positions.
Acoustic glass and soundproof padding prevent outside noise from filtering into the cabin. While Driver Easy Speak offers a built-in PA system that transmits the driver’s voice through the audio system’s rear speakers.
Qi wireless charging USB ports are available for front and rear seat passengers. Two Type-C USB ports + 1 Type A port are located at the bottom of the center stack for rear seat passengers. While two Type C USB ports are located in the front.
With all seat rows in use, the SUV offers 16.0 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row. Folding the third-row seats increases capacity to 48.4 cubic feet. Maximum cargo capacity if the second-row seats are folded, increases carrying space to 84.3 cubic feet.
Safety
The 2022 Toyota Highlander is outfitted with standard Toyota Safety Sense—an expansive suite of protective systems which includes a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection that offers automatic braking capability when a driver is unable to react quickly in a road emergency.
Additional functions include Emergency Steering Assist designed to stabilize a driver’s steering maneuvers when avoiding unexpected obstacles and a 360-degree rotating camera
Toyota’s 2022 Highlander is equipped with eight airbags, including side curtain airbags for all three rows.
