2024 Toyota Grand Highlander
Toyota has added an all-new and all-different midsize SUV to its family of modern cruisers. The 2024 Grand Highlander delivers all-action powertrain options, more passenger space and an array of in-cabin tech capacities for daily driving and family road trips.
"There is definitely a need in the market for a mid-size SUV that prioritizes interior comfort in all three rows and Grand Highlander is the ultimate option," said Lisa Materazzo, vice president of Toyota.
"This 3-row model takes the Highlander legacy to an entirely new space while also keeping our promise to deliver on electrification. Highlander was the first model in its segment to offer a hybrid powertrain back in 2006 and Grand Highlander further expands our electrification leadership."
Under the Hood
Encased in the gas-only option for the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander is a 2.4-liter turbocharged base engine. The mid-level powertrain is a 2.5-liter hybrid with a manufacturer-estimated 34 mpg combined rating.
Hybrid MAX rounds up the powertrain list offering 362 hp and 400 Ib-ft of torque. With the Hybrid Max powertrain, the Grand Highlander is expected to become the most powerful mid-size SUV with a 6.3-second 0 to 60 mph time.
Comfort and Convenience
A 12.3-inch multimedia display houses a center console with a wireless charger, two USB ports, three cup holders and a tablet tray.
The SUV offers a roomy layout with enough space for seven carry-on suitcases behind a spacious adult-sized third row, totaling 98 cubic feet with the seats folded down.
Unlike its predecessors, passengers relegated to the third row have individual USB ports, smartphone/tablet storage areas and two cup holders.
Safety
All 2024 Grand Highlander models will feature the latest Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 advanced driver assistance systems.
