2025 Tundra: Toyota Unleashes Powerful, Premium Upgrades

Toyota’s 2025 Tundra delivers powerful engine options, upgraded interior features and top-tier safety tech for summer adventures.

Engineers outfitted the 2025 Tundra with a new power tailgate featuring knee lift assist which allows the tailgate to be operated via a key fob or tail-mounted switch.

An enhanced Tow Tech package adds a Wi-Fi enabled trailer camera, Trailer Backup Guide with Straight Path Assist and an integrated trailer brake controller that makes it easier to tow boats, campers or trailers.

The 2025 Tundra offers a range of trim levels including SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794, TRD Pro and Capstone. A new TRD Rally package features 18-inch TRD wheels with distinctive center caps, all-terrain tires, enhanced shocks and skid plates for superior off-road performance.

A roster of standard and available exterior colors includes Ice Cap, Wind Chill Pearl, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Celestial Silver Metallic, Midnight Black Metallic, Supersonic Red, Lunar Rock, Terra and Blueprint.

An all-new 2025 Mudbath color is exclusive to TRD Pro grades and a Smoked Mesquite paint option is reserved for Limited and 1794 grades. An iconic red, orange and yellow colorway inspired by Toyota’s desert-racing heritage is prominently featured on the grille, front doors, tailgate and wheel center caps.

Engineers have incorporated tri-color stitching throughout the truck, accenting the seats, doors and center console. This package also adds off-road upgrades including a locking rear differential, Multi-Terrain Select, Crawl Control and a Multi-Terrain Monitor.

The TRD Rally package offers four exterior color options: Ice Cap, Magnetic Gray, Midnight Black Metallic and Celestial Silver.

Under the Hood

Toyota’s 2025 Tundra offers an i-FORCE gas powertrain that produces 389 hp and 479 Ib-ft of torque.

An optional i-FORCE MAX hybrid combines the turbocharged V6 gas engine with an electric motor that delivers 437 hp and 583 Ib-ft of torque. The hybrid system allows the Tundra to run on electric power at low speeds and regenerate energy when it slows down.

Both powertrains are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission that allows the full-size pickup to tackle diverse road conditions with ease. The transmission includes manual-style shifting, specialized settings for uphill and downhill driving and a TOW/HAUL mode that facilitates towing heavy loads.

Comfort and Convenience

The base SR is available in a Double Cab compact cabin with longer bed and a CrewMax configuration, which provides a spacious interior for enhanced passenger comfort. A six-speaker audio system comes standard on the Double Cab while the CrewMax offers an upgraded nine-speaker option.

Both vehicles come equipped with an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support, a 4-way manual front passenger seat, and an 8-inch multimedia touchscreen featuring wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

An advanced Intelligent Assistant capable of natural and conversational language interactions is available through a Drive Connect trial. This virtual companion also responds quickly to voice prompts and handles complex requests such as 'Find the nearest gas station and send the directions to my phone.'

The 2025 Tundra's entry-level amenities include an 8-inch multimedia touchscreen, single-zone automatic climate control with air filtration, a telescoping steering wheel with audio, phone and driver assistance controls, three USB ports, push-button start, remote keyless entry and a day/night rearview mirror that minimizes headlight glare for nocturnal drivers.

Available features on higher trims are massaging front seats, a 14-inch infotainment interface, 12-speaker premium audio system, wireless phone charger, surround-view monitor, panoramic roof, five USB ports and a rear-view camera mirror.

A maximum towing capacity of 12,000 pounds makes the 2025 Tundra ideal for hauling a fully loaded camper or lightweight boat for a summer fishing trip.

The Tundra’s folding tow mirrors provide clear visibility along both sides of the trailer while an available air suspension improves stability on rough backroads. These mirrors also come with integrated turn signals and LED trailering lights that provide rear-facing illumination in low-light driving conditions.

A Wi-Fi–enabled camera mounted on the trailer streams live video to a digital rearview mirror that offers a clear view when backing a fishing boat down a narrow ramp or navigating a crowded campground.

Safety

All 2025 Tundra models are equipped with Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 –a suite of advanced systems designed to enhance occupant safety and reduce the risk of accidents.

Features:

  • Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection
  • Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control
  • Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist
  • Lane Tracing Assist
  • Blind-spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert
  • Road Sign Assist
  • Automatic High Beams

The 2025 Tundra also features Toyota’s Rear Seat Reminder which activates if a rear door is opened at any point after the vehicle is started. A reminder alert flashes in the instrument cluster and is accompanied by multitone chimes even when the engine is turned off.
