Toyota’s 2025 RAV4 delivers multiple engine options, spacious cabin space and an array of top tech safety systems.

This fifth-generation SUV is built on Toyota’s New Global Architecture-K platform. The robust styling offers exceptional seating comfort and a vantage driving position for improved road visibility.

The gas-powered RAV4 is available in LE, XLE, XLE Premium and Limited trims, while the RAV4 Hybrid comes in LE, XLE, XLE Premium, SE, XSE, Limited and Woodland Edition.

Toyota’s engineers designed the Woodland Edition for adventure enthusiasts. The vehicle combines urban versatility with off-road capability to deliver a rugged and refined driving experience.

This SUV features standard black roof rails and crossbars for transporting recreational gear during out-of-town escapades. It also includes a 1.25-inch activity mount for bike racks and a 120V inverter to power compatible household items on camping trips.

Under the Hood

Toyota’s 2025 RAV4 gas model is fitted with a 2.5-liter engine that generates 203 hp and 184 Ib-ft of torque. This engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission available in front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations.

The AWD system features a standard All-Wheel Drive and Dynamic Torque Vectoring with Rear Driveline Disconnect. This technology improves fuel economy on long road trips by disengaging the rear wheels and reducing engine workload when extra traction is not required.

A direct-shift automatic transmission enables seamless gear changes that minimizes power loss from the torque converter. All gas engine RAV4 models achieve a 27 city/35 MPG highway fuel economy rating.

The 2025 RAV4 Hybrid pairs a 2.5-liter engine with two electric motors to attain 219 hp and an estimated 39 MPG fuel efficiency.

All models come with a standard Electronic On-Demand AWD system that adapts to various driving speeds for enhanced traction and control. The drive modes include Eco Mode for fuel economy, EV Mode for short-distance electric-only driving and Sport Mode for a performance driven experience

Normal Mode offers a balanced combination of Eco, Sport and EV features that is suitable for everyday drivers.

A Trail Mode selection is exclusive to the RAV4 Hybrid Woodland Edition. This tech enhances off-road capability by optimizing the all-wheel drive system, braking and drive force for top engine performance in challenging terrain.

Comfort and Convenience

The base RAV4 LE amenities include dual zone climate control, 6-way adjustable driver’s seat, 4-way powered front passenger seat, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, three USB ports and a telescoping steering wheel.

High-end trims add leather upholstery, 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support, dual-zone automatic climate control with rear vents, four additional USB ports and 10.5-inch infotainment touchscreen.

A Smart Key system for the front doors allows keyless access into the RAV4 when hands are filled with household supplies or outdoor gear. It also eliminates the hassle of fumbling for keys during unpredictable spring showers.

Optional packages include the XLE Premium package which adds integrated LED fog lights. The XLE Premium Advanced Technology package featuring a Qi-compatible wireless smartphone charging system with an indicator light.

An XLE Premium Grade Weather bundle includes an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory settings and lumbar support. It also offers rain-sensing windshield wipers with a de-icer function.

Toyota’s 8-inch multimedia screen is standard on LE, LE Hybrid, XLE, XLE Hybrid, XLE Premium, XLE Premium Hybrid, Hybrid SE and Woodland Edition. Higher trims are equipped with an upgraded 10.5-inch infotainment system for an immersive and user-friendly experience.

Both displays support wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing connectivity for five devices. A new technology feature enables seamless streaming of Apple Music and Amazon Music directly through the setup.
