2023 Toyota Crown
The 2023 Toyota Crown comes with a full redesign, spacious cabin space and a gamut of safety technologies for maximum on-road protection.
Toyota engineers filled the base model with an impressive array of amenities such as heated front seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Connectivity, Wi-Fi hotspot and a six-speaker premium audio system.
Under the Hood
XLE, Limited and Platinum Crown trims feature two unique hybrid engine configurations—Toyota Hybrid System and Hybrid Max.
The Hybrid Max powertrain is exclusive to the Platinum model and pairs a turbocharged 2.4-liter engine with twin electric motors, generating an impressive 340 HP. The 2.5-liter engine which powers the XLE and Limited models churns out 236 HP.
Toyota’s Electric On-Demand All Wheel Drive is standard on all models, with a direct shift 6-speed automatic transmission available on Platinum. An electronically controlled Continuously Variable Transmission offered on the other models.
A newly developed high-output nickel-metal hydride battery enables the XLE and Limited to achieve a manufacturer-estimated 38 mpg combined rating. The hybrid max powertrain delivers a combined 28 mpg rating.
Comfort and Convenience
Eight-way power-adjustable front seats are featured on all trims, with rear seats offering comfortable seating and ample legroom for tall occupants.
An attractive illuminated control panel runs across the dashboard, below the multimedia screen providing access to connectivity and infotainment functions.
A 12.3-inch color display screen allows drivers to review vehicle settings at the push of a button. This includes a Hybrid System Indicator that highlights powertrain output, regeneration status and optimal acceleration required for eco-friendly driving.
The Intelligent Assistant add-on responds to voice prompts for directions, locating places of interest, regulating cabin temperature and adjusting audio controls.
Optional upgrades include a panoramic sunroof, rain-sensing windshield wipers, an 11-speaker JBL premium audio system and six drive modes.
Safety
All grades of Toyota Crown come standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0. The system includes enhancements made possible by system sensors with improved detection capability.
The Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection is capable of detecting motorcyclists and guardrails in certain conditions. When making a turn or approaching an intersection, TSS 3.0 detects certain forward or laterally approaching vehicles, provides audio/visual alerts and automatic braking in certain conditions.
