Toyota’s 2027 Corolla celebrates 60 years of iconic reliability with impressive fuel efficiency, a tech-focused cabin and the latest safety features across the lineup.
The five-passenger sedan is offered in LE, SE and XSE gas-powered grades along with the Hybrid LE, Hybrid SE and Hybrid XLE.
Exterior color options include Blueprint, Wind Chill Pearl, Ice Cap, Ruby Flare Pearl, Underground, Classic Silver Metallic, Celestite and the new Inked dark finish which replaces Midnight Black Metallic.
A limited 60th Anniversary Special Edition is available in Ice Cap and Supersonic red colors. The sedan adds a 10.5-inch multimedia system, black and red sport fabric seats, special door sills, custom floor mats, 18-inch machined black finished alloy wheels and exclusive commemorative badging.
The special edition maintains the SE Hybrid’s impressive fuel efficiency and is limited to 2,500 units.
Under the Hood
Toyota’s gas-powered 2027 Corolla comes standard with a 2.0-liter engine that generates 169 hp and 151 lb-ft of torque. The entry-level LE delivers an EPA-estimated 32 city/41 highway rating.
Engineers fitted the Corolla Hybrid with a 1.8-liter engine that works with Toyota’s Hybrid System and an electronically-controlled, continuously variable transmission. The design delivers responsive acceleration and maximum fuel efficiency.
Gas-powered models use a Dynamic Shift CVT combined with a traditional launch gear and pulley system. The launch gear helps the Corolla accelerate smoothly from a standstill, seamlessly transitioning the CVT’s pulley system as speed increases.
The system achieves an estimated 53 city/ 46 highway rating on Hybrid LE and Hybrid XLE models. An available Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive enhances traction by using an electric motor to deliver power to the rear wheels when needed.
Hybrid models opt for an electronically controlled CVT that pairs the 1.8-liter engine and electric motors to deliver optimal performance in different driving conditions.
The 2027 Corolla XSE adds steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. Drivers can select 10 simulated gear ratios for an engaging driving experience. They also can select lower ratios for quicker acceleration or higher ratios for smooth cruising.
The 2027 Corolla offers Normal, Eco and Sport drive modes for different driving scenarios. Normal provides a balanced response for everyday driving. Eco prioritizes fuel efficiency, while Sport sharpens throttle response for dynamic drives.
Comfort and Convenience
Standard features on the 2027 Corolla include an 8-inch multimedia touchscreen, 7-inch digital gauge cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android compatibility, dual Bluetooth phone connectivity, four USB ports and a six-speaker audio system.
Higher trims add a 10.5-inch touchscreen, 12.3-inch digital cluster, Qi wireless charger and a nine-speaker audio system with an 800-watt amplifier and subwoofer.
A Smart Key system unlocks the doors, trunk and starts the engine at a push of a button.
Other convenient services include Remote Connect, Safety Connect and Wi-Fi Connect which provide access to remote vehicle functions, emergency assistance and in-vehicle connectivity features.
A power tilt and slide moonroof with a sliding sunshade is standard on the XSE and XLE Hybrid which allows air circulation inside the cabin.
LE and SE models offer a six-way adjustable driver’s seat and a four-way adjustable front passenger seat, while the XSE and Hybrid XLE offer eight-way power-adjustable and heated front driver’s seats.
