
Toyota’s 2026 Corolla Cross delivers two powertrain options, a redesigned interior and a gamut of advanced safety technologies.
A revamped front console features an expanded storage area, deep cup holders for larger beverage containers and a new 10.5-inch touchscreen multimedia upgrade option available on higher trims.
The 2026 Corolla Cross presents two updated front-end designs, featuring a color-matched grille on hybrid models and a traditional grille for gas models.
Both vehicles come with upgraded LED running lights designed to provide brighter illumination in low-light conditions.
The 5-seater SUV is available in L, LE and XLE gas trims with front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations. Toyota’s hybrid lineup consists of S, SE and XSE trims, all equipped with Electronic-On-Demand AWD.
A Cold Weather package adds a heated steering wheel and heated front seats. This bundle is standard on the gas XLE AWD and hybrid XSE models and an option for the gas LE AWD and hybrid SE trims.
The high-end XLE SUV debuts a new 18-inch alloy wheel design in dark gray metallic finish while the hybrid XSE is fitted with 18-inch aluminum alloy sport wheels finished in gloss black.
Toyota’s 2026 Corolla Cross is offered in 10 exterior paint colors. A new Calvary Blue paint is available on select grades with a sleek jet black roof upgrade for SE and XSE models.
Under the Hood
Gas models are powered by a 2.0-liter engine with dual variable valve timing for enhanced engine performance and fuel efficiency that produces 169 hp and 151 lb-ft of torque. Toyota’s Dynamic Control system generates 50% of power to rear wheels when needed and disengages when it’s not.
The 2026 SUV delivers an EPA-estimated 29 city/ 31 MPG highway and a combined 30 MPG rating on AWD models. FWD Corolla Cross SUVs achieve 31 city/33 MPG highway and an estimated 32 MPG combined.
The 2026 hybrid Corolla Cross is powered by Toyota’s 5th Generation Hybrid Electric system and comes standard with Electronic-On Demand AWD.
Engineers have paired the 2.0-liter engine with advanced valve timing and three electric motors to an electronically controlled CVT to enhance fuel economy and driving dynamics.
Altogether, the powertrain generates a combined output of 196 hp and acceleration speed of 0-60 mph in approximately 8 seconds.
The 2026 Hybrid achieves an EPA-estimated 45 city/38 MPG highway and a combined 42 MPG rating for AWD models.
Comfort and Convenience
The base L model comes with durable light-gray fabric trimmed seats. LE trims offer light gray or black fabric seating options while the XLE Corolla Cross is fitted with upscale leatherette-trimmed seats.
Toyota’s Corolla Cross standard features include an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support, 7-inch digital gauge cluster, an 8-inch multimedia touchscreen, two front USB charging outlets, 60/40 split folding rear seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility and a six-speaker sound system.
Other amenities accessible on higher trims are a 10.5-inch multimedia touchscreen, 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support, heated front seats, heated power outside mirrors, dual zone climate control, wireless charging, four USB ports and a rear privacy glass.
Additional features for the high-end XLE and sporty XSE models include a rear center armrest with two extra cup holders for passengers and a select liftgate with adjustable height that makes loading and unloading cargo much easier.
Both Corolla Cross models offer an optional premium sound package comprising nine speakers, a subwoofer and amplifier.
Another multimedia upgrade adds a larger 10.5-inch touchscreen for LE and XSE Corolla Cross models.
