Toyota Safety Sense: Lane Mitigation

Drowsy or distracted driving is dangerous, that’s why Toyota engineers developed a system that warns drivers--and can even take control of the vehicle--should they drift from their lane.

Toyota Safety Sense, a suite of active safety features that comes standard on many new Toyota vehicles, includes Lane Departure Alert.

The sophisticated system is designed to detect lane departure on roads with visible lane markings. This system can be engaged when you’re traveling at a speed of 32 mph or faster. Drivers are given visual and audible alerts when the vehicle senses drifting.

This system works with a steering assist program that may automatically make small corrective steering inputs to help keep your vehicle in its lane.

Lane Departure Alert comes on the Avalon, Avalon Hybrid, Camry, Camry Hybrid, C-HR, Corolla, Corolla Hatchback, Highlander, Highlander Hybrid, Prius, Prius Prime, RAV4, RAV4 Hybrid and Sienna.
